Archduke of Austria Heinrich Ferdinand's Biography

Austrian Archduke, military officer, painter and photographer.
He was the fourth son of the former Grand Duke Ferdinando IV of Tuscany (1835-1908) from his marriage to Alix (1849-1935), daughter of Duke Karl III Of Parma.
The Archduke had a relationship with the bourgeois Caecilie Obermayer, which was dissolved in August 1907 by paying a compensation of 100,000 thalers. He married Maria Karoline Ludescher (1883-1981), daughter of Johann-Georg Ludescher and Barbara Prantl, on 29 November 1919, also a non-equitable marriage, which was therefore not recognized according to the Habsburg House Act. They had three children.
He served as an officer until the end of the First World War and then retired to Salzburg as an artist.
He died in Salzburg on 21 May 1969, aged 91.
