          Flore Landru's Biography

          French mother of serial killer Henri Désiré Landru (1869-1922) who murdered at least seven women in the village of Gambais between December 1915 and January 1919.
          Flore Landru worked as a domestic laundress and seamstress. She married Alexandre Landru, a furnace stoker, on 4 February 1864 in Noailles. Both were ardent Catholics.
          They had an illegitimate daughter, Florentine Marguerite Landru, born in 1854. She married Léon Ache in 1887 and they had three children.
          Flore and Alexandre’s first son, Charles Henri, was born in 1866 in Paris and died in the same city in 1867, aged eight months.
          Flore and Alexandre’s other child, Henri Désiré Landru, was born in 1869. He married Marie-Catherine in 1893 and they had four children.
          Flore Landru died on 12 March 1912 in Agen at age 76. Her husband Alexandre committed suicide on 28 August 1912 by hanging himself from a tree in the Bois de Boulogne in Paris also at age 76.
