          François-Henri de Virieu's Biography

          French journalist, the Chief of social service at Le Monde newspaper, 1958-69. He was Chief of the political and economic service and editor in chief of TF1 television station 1969-72, director of a literary collection, 1974-77, reporter at the Nouvel Observateur, 1974-77, co-founder and editor in chief of Le Matin, 1977-81, news director at Antenne2 (TV, 1981-82 and director of development and international relations at A2, 1982-87.
          Virieu was producer and host of “L’heure de vérité,” TV from 1982, President of Europe’s Institute of audio-visual and telecommunications from 1988 and Administrator of Onisep from 1988.
          He served as Mayor of Marly le Roi from 1995. Virieu married on 7/22/1959; five children. He died of pancreatic cancer on 10/27/1997, Marly de Roi, France.
          (Note : he wrote four books but none translated into English.)
