          Fred Cox's Biography

          American football kicker who played for fifteen seasons in the National Football League (NFL) for the Minnesota Vikings (1963-1977). Cox is the Vikings’ all-time leader in scoring (1,365 points) and field goals (282). He is also one of eleven Vikings players to have played in all four of their Super Bowl appearances during the 1970s. At the time of his retirement, Cox was the NFL’s second all-time leading scorer (with 1,365 points) behind George Blanda. Following his NFL career Cox became a licensed chiropractor. He died on 20 November 2019 at age 80 in Monticello, Minnesota.
