          Howard Stern's Biography

American radio and television personality, producer, author, actor, and photographer, who has described himself as “King of All Media” since 1992 for his successes outside radio.
However, he remains best known for his radio show The Howard Stern Show, which gained popularity when it was nationally syndicated on terrestrial radio from 1986 to 2005.
As a shock-jock he reached some three million listeners every day, a huge audience of people who found his irreverence and scatological humor hilarious. In his radio show, he screed on masturbation, penis size and flatulence. Once out of the sound booth, he was said to be a bundle of insecurities.
His book, “Private Parts,” was published in 1993 and sold a million copies the first week. It was made into a film four years later.
On 25 February 2004, his radio show was yanked off the air on six radio stations across the country for indecency. His offense was to conduct a sexually graphic conversation with Paris Hilton’s ex-boyfriend and allowed a racial comment from a call-in listener. Stern retaliated by repeatedly bashing the conservative Bush administration and urging listeners not to vote to re-elect the conservative President. After several months of facing criticism, he announced on 6 October 2004 that he would be taking his nationally syndicated radio show to SIRIUS Satellite Radio in January 2006.
Stern married his first wife, Alison Berns at Temple Ohabei Shalom in Brookline, Massachusetts, on 4 June 1978. They have three daughters: Emily Beth (b. 1983), Debra Jennifer (b. 1986), and Ashley Jade (b. 1993). In October 1999, they decided to separate. The marriage ended in 2001 with an amicable divorce and settlement.
He became engaged to Beth Ostrofsky on 13 February 2007. They married on 3 October 2008.
