          Irmgard Enderle's Biography

          German politician, trades unionist and journalist, who was prominent within the Bremen feminist movement. In 1946, together with Agnes Heineken, Anna Stiegler, Käthe Popall and Anna Klara Fischer, she founded the Bremen Women’s Committee, a widely acknowledged cross party and religiously interdenominational federation of women’s organisations from all levels of society in Bremen. Between 1946 and 1947 she chaired the committee, before being succeeded in the post by Charlotte Niehaus.
          She married August Enderle on 10 January 1933 in Breslau. She died on 20 September 1985, aged 90, in Cologne, West Germany.
