          Jim Pyne's Biography

          American college and professional football player who was an offensive lineman in the National Football League (NFL) for nine seasons, with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1994–1997), Detroit Lions (1998), Cleveland Browns (1999–2000) and Philadelphia Eagles (2001–2002).
          Pyne was originally signed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on 14 July 1994 after being picked in the seventh round of the NFL draft. He broke his leg while playing for the Bucs on 17 Dec 1996; the injury prevented him playing for the remainder of the season. Not too long after injuring his leg, Pyne was signed by the Lions on 21 Feb 1998. As a player at Virginia Tech. in 1993, he was named to “The Sporting News'” college All-America first team.
          Pyne is a member of pro football’s first three-generation family. His father played for the Patriots, and his grandfather for the Providence Steam Roller.
