          Kurt Magnus's Biography

German radio pioneer and administrative lawyer, one of the initiators in 1923 of the radio hour Berlin, the first German radio company.
After the seizure of power by the Nazis on 1 April 1933, the National Socialist Reich Broadcasting Commissioner Gustav Krukenberg, approached Kurt Magnus to take over the management of the Reich Broadcasting Society, whereupon Magnus resigned. In August 1933, Magnus was arrested along with Alfred Braun, Heinrich Giesecke and Hans Flesch for corruption and imprisoned in the Oranienburg concentration camp. Until the verdict in the Reichs Rundfunk Trial, he spent 18 months in remand at the Moabit Detention Centre.
After the trial, Magnus worked for three years in a travel agency in Berlin. In 1939 he went to Wiesbaden as a managing director of a company. He died on 20 June 1962 in Wiesbaden, aged 75.
