          Pierre Delanoê's Biography

          French lyricist, the most famous one in the 20th century, who wrote thousands of songs for dozens of singers, including Dalida, Edith Piaf, Charles Aznavour, Petula Clark, Johnny Hallyday, Joe Dassin, Michel Sardou and Mireille Mathieu. 
          Delanoë was his grandmother’s maiden name. He and his wife Micheline Leroyer (née Biesel) had three children, Pierre-Denis, Sylvie and Caroline. Delanoë died of cardiac arrest in the early morning of 27 December 2006 at age 88 in Poissy near Paris.
