          Arne Paus's Biography

          Norwegian figurative painter who studied at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf under Joseph Beuys 1964–1966 and at the Norwegian Academy of Fine Arts under Aage Storstein and Alf-Jørgen Aas in the years 1967–1970. He made his debut at the Autumn Exhibition in 1966.
          Throughout the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s, Arne Paus, together with Bjørn Fjell, Karl Erik Harr, and Odd Nerdrum, among others, organised a series of exhibitions under the title “Romanticism and realism.”
          He is known for his association with Aurdal in Valdres, but also draws his motifs from Western Norway, Northern Norway, France, Spain, Italy, and Greece.
