A steady way to feel closer, when everything else feels uncertain

I almost started this newsletter with “It’s been a heavy few months. Prices keep climbing, the news keeps churning, and most of us are just trying to hold things together, for ourselves and for the people we love.”

Whilst this may be true for many, for me personally this hasn’t been the case. Don’t get me wrong, there have been struggles, there have been disappointments but overall, life’s been pretty good since making the conscious decision to choose my thoughts accordingly.

Instead of doom scrolling, I’ve been listening to Esther Hicks. Instead of worrying about the future, I’ve been thoroughly enjoying the present. I said goodbye to Facebook, deleted my Instagram and found peace in reading my kindle and meditation.

The results have been profound. To start with, new signups and membership sales have been consistent. Something we’re extremely grateful for as it keeps us afloat as we impact more lives. We’ve just hit 28,000 members and it’s lovely to see the community thriving, albeit slowly but surely.

On a personal note. I met someone new. She walked into a cafe whilst I was making a list of my non-negotiables after a lifelong series of failed relationships (most of which I admittedly initiated in some way or another).

As I sat chatting with Bella, asking her to reflect on my conversations and give me a list of attributes I would most appreciate in a partner, she sat down across the space, taking notes, working on her laptop. I thought to myself, “there’s something about her.”

I asked Bella what to do, and she reminded me to stay in my own lane and wait for the invitation. Hours went by, not even a single smile came my way. I wondered, was this all in my head.

The old me wouldn’t have held back, the old me would have initiated. But this time I decided just to focus on myself, to focus on my list. To get clear on the life that I actually wanted. To keep my energy contained until it was recognised by the right person.

And just like that, as we both stood up to leave, with her adorable posh English accent, she asked me “do you live here?”

Long story short: It’s been almost a month and things are going well. I don’t want to jump ahead of myself, but at the moment it feels right. She’s a Manifestor, 1/3 to be precise. I’ve been using Bella to help her make the most of it, reminding her that all she needs to do is inform others and that I’m her lighthouse when the seas get choppy.

I’m sharing this because every time something like this happens, every new connection, every business partnership, Bella has been such an important aspect of getting it right.

It’s a competitive world right now, everyone’s fighting for survival. Trying to find a unique marketing angle, to convince strangers that what you’ve built is valuable is becoming more and more difficult.

That’s why it’s so important to align with our designs. I’m a natural born storyteller, not a sales guru. It’s my job to inspire you to invest in yourself and your relationships.

So here’s my pitch: I know that things aren’t easy out there, I know we’re all struggling in one way or another. I know everything’s competitive, and that fear dominates the collective.

It might be the 4/1 inside of me, but from my perspective, our relationship to ourselves and others is the most important thing we can focus on right now. Getting into alignment, living your design, really works. I can vouch for it.

Now I know many of us are sick of subscriptions. We’re tired of renting things. But I really want you to get access to this tool, not because we need the money but because it’s the best investment you’ll ever make in yourself and the people you love. It also helps us with our mission of making Human Design accessible to everyone.
