How the Usage Page Works: Monthly Allowance, Carryover Balance, Top-Ups, and Auto-Reload

Account ManagementUpdated Mar 13, 20262 min read

The Usage page is now the main place to manage paid AI billing on HumanDesign.ai. It combines your included monthly allowance, carryover balance, top-ups, auto-reload, and activity history in one place.

Where to find it

Open https://app.humandesign.ai/usage after signing in.

What you will see first

  • Available balance – the total amount you can spend right now on paid AI features.
  • Monthly Pro allowance – the included Pro amount for the current cycle, if your plan includes it.
  • Carryover balance – balance from top-ups, auto-reloads, or converted legacy credits that stays until spent.

How the monthly Pro allowance works

  • Pro includes US$25.00 per month for paid AI usage.
  • That included amount is spent first.
  • It resets with your billing cycle.
  • Unused monthly allowance does not roll over.

How carryover balance works

Carryover balance is your reusable paid balance. It can come from:

  • manual top-ups
  • auto-reloads
  • converted legacy report credits

Carryover balance does not reset monthly.

Top-ups

A top-up adds more carryover balance to your account. Use this if you want more paid AI usage without changing your membership plan.

Auto-reload

Auto-reload is optional. When enabled, it adds more carryover balance when your balance falls below your chosen threshold. You can also set the refill amount and minimum balance on the Usage page.

What happens when your balance gets low

If auto-reload is off, paid usage stops when your balance runs out. If auto-reload is on and your saved payment method is valid, the system adds more carryover balance based on your settings.

What the balance covers

  • premium chat models
  • report generation
  • report section regenerations
  • content generation tools

Free chat models remain available where your plan includes them, but paid report generation and premium AI features use usage balance.

Activity history

Your activity feed shows what added balance, what spent balance, and whether usage came from monthly allowance or carryover.
