Editing Your Professional Profile: Photo, Bio, Links & Branding

Professional FeaturesUpdated Dec 3, 20254 min read

Your Professional profile gives people (and the AI) a sense of who you are. This article shows you how to update your name, photo, cover image, tagline, bio, website, and social links so your presence feels clear and authentic.

Opening Profile Edit Settings

To edit your profile details:

  1. Log in to your account.
  2. Open your profile page (click your avatar or name in the main menu).
  3. Look for an Edit Profile button (often shown as a button or pencil icon on your profile header).
  4. Click it to open the Profile Edit window.

Most basic fields live here; advanced professional options are in the
Professional Settings modal (Pro feature).

Profile Photo

Your profile photo is the small image displayed on your profile, in comments,
and in various parts of the app.

  1. In the profile edit window, find the Profile Photo section.
  2. Click Upload or the current image.
  3. Select a clear, high‑quality image of yourself (a square or near‑square crop works best).
  4. Save your changes.

A warm, professional photo helps others recognize you and builds trust, especially
if you are a practitioner.

Cover Photo & Layout

The cover photo is the large banner image at the top of your profile. It can
reflect your brand, your work, or simply your aesthetic.

  1. In the profile editor or via a dedicated Cover Photo option, click to upload a new image.
  2. Choose a wide image that looks good as a banner.
  3. Adjust the vertical position (often controlled by a Cover Position slider or setting) so the most important part is visible.
  4. Save changes to update your header.

A cohesive combination of profile photo and cover image instantly makes your profile
feel more intentional and “on brand.”

Name, Tagline, and Location

These fields form the top summary of who you are:

  • Full Name: Shown prominently on your profile and in directories.
  • Tagline: A one‑line summary of who you are or what you do
(for example “Human Design Guide & Business Mentor”).
  • Location: Optional; helpful if you work locally or want to signal your time zone/region.

In the profile editor:

  1. Edit your Name to match how you want to be seen (first + last name, or professional name).
  2. Add a short, clear Tagline that describes your role, style, or focus.
  3. Optionally fill in your Location (city, country).
  4. Save your changes.

Bio: Telling Your Story

Your bio is where you can say a bit more about your background, journey, and what
you care about. It appears on your profile and helps visitors feel connected.

Tips for a good bio:

  • State briefly who you are and what you do.
  • Mention how Human Design fits into your life or work.
  • For practitioners, include who you help and how (for example “I support creatives through Human Design‑informed coaching”).
  • Keep it friendly and readable (short paragraphs or bullet points).

Edit your Bio field in the profile editor, then save.

Website & Social Links

You can connect your profile to your wider online presence:

  • Website: Your main site or landing page.
  • Social Links: Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, LinkedIn, etc.

In the profile editor:

  1. Find the Website field and paste your main URL (for example https://yourdomain.com).
  2. In the Social Links section, add links to your main social profiles.
  3. Use complete URLs (for example https://instagram.com/yourhandle).
  4. Save the profile.

Visitors to your profile can now click through to learn more about you and your work.

Tips for a Strong Personal Profile

  • Use your real name or established professional name so people can recognize you.
  • Keep your tagline focused on how you help or what you are exploring.
  • Refresh your bio occasionally as your interests and offerings evolve.
  • Make sure your profile photo and cover image feel aligned with your Human Design work and personality.

Once your personal profile is in good shape, you are ready to build out your
Professional Profile (if you’re Pro) and make the most of the directory and IHDS features.
