How Bella Memory Works

Account ManagementUpdated Mar 12, 20263 min read

Overview

Bella Memory is the saved context Bella can reuse across future chats. It helps Bella remember durable information about you, your goals, your recurring situations, and chart-linked context that should continue to matter over time.

Bella Memory is separate from chat history. Your old sessions are a record of messages. Memory is a smaller, reusable layer of context Bella can pull into later conversations.

Where to Find Bella Memory

Open the web app and go to Settings > Memory.

  • Memory tab: review and manage saved memory
  • Import tab: bring in durable context from ChatGPT or Claude

What Bella Saves Automatically

Bella auto-saves durable context from conversation when it looks useful for future chats. This can include:

  • Goals and long-term focus areas
  • Work context, career themes, and recurring professional situations
  • Relationship context and named person-specific situations
  • Preferences that are likely to matter again
  • Major milestones or meaningful turning points
  • Durable decision patterns and recurring life themes

What Bella Does Not Auto-Save

Bella Memory is designed to focus on meaningful context, not random details or raw chart labels. Bella does not try to auto-save:

  • Greetings, filler, or one-off logistics
  • Full chat transcripts
  • Raw Human Design descriptors on their own, such as type, strategy, authority, profile, centers, gates, channels, incarnation cross, variables, digestion, environment, motivation, or perspective
  • Generic assistant restatements of chart structure with no real-life context

How Chart Memory Works

Some memory is global, which means it can help across future Bella chats. Some memory is chart-scoped, which means it belongs to one specific chart or relationship context.

Chart-scoped memory is best for durable context that clearly belongs to one person or chart, such as:

  • A partner or client name
  • A chart-linked work or role context
  • A recurring person-specific situation
  • A durable chart-linked insight that Bella should reuse for that chart

How to Manage Saved Memory

  1. Go to Settings > Memory.
  2. Open the Memory tab.
  3. Use the filters to switch between All memory, Global only, and Chart only.
  4. Open any memory item to manage it manually.

From there you can:

  • Edit the saved wording
  • Pin important memory so it ranks higher
  • Archive memory you no longer want reused
  • Delete memory completely
  • Mark a memory as Helpful or Wrong

Bella Memory vs Chart Context vs Chat History

  • Bella Memory: reusable saved context Bella may use again in future chats
  • Chart Context: a short manual note, relationship label, or perspective you set for one specific chart
  • Chat History: past messages grouped into sessions

Archiving or deleting a chat session does not automatically remove memory that was already saved separately.

Tips

  • Use the Import tab if another AI already knows a lot of useful life context about you.
  • Keep manual memory focused on durable context rather than raw chart facts.
  • Use chart-scoped memory only when the information genuinely belongs to one chart, person, or relationship context.
