How to Manage Your Conversation Sessions

Account ManagementUpdated Mar 10, 20262 min read

Overview

Your conversations with Bella are organised into sessions. Each session groups related messages together, making it easy to find and revisit past discussions. The session sidebar lets you manage all your conversations in one place.

Sessions vs Memory Import

Conversation sessions organise your Bella messages, while Memory Import stores reusable memory separately for future personalisation.

Archiving or deleting a session only affects that chat history. It does not remove imported memory from your account.

Session Sidebar

The session sidebar appears on the left side of the chat (desktop) or can be opened via the menu button (mobile). It shows all your sessions for the current chart, grouped by date:

  • Today
  • Yesterday
  • This Week
  • This Month
  • Older

Each group can be collapsed or expanded by clicking on it.

Creating a New Session

Click the + New Chat button at the top of the session sidebar. A new blank session will be created and you can start chatting immediately. Sessions are also created automatically when you send your first message.

Searching Sessions

Use the search box at the top of the sidebar to filter sessions by title. The search is instant and case-insensitive.

Renaming a Session

  1. Hover over a session in the sidebar.
  2. Click the three-dot menu (…) that appears.
  3. Select Rename.
  4. Type the new name and press Enter to save (or Escape to cancel).

Archiving a Session

Archiving moves a session out of your active list without deleting it:

  1. Click the three-dot menu on a session.
  2. Select Archive.
  3. To view archived sessions, click the Archive toggle at the bottom of the sidebar.
  4. To restore an archived session, click Unarchive from its menu.

Deleting a Session

  1. Click the three-dot menu on a session.
  2. Select Delete.
  3. Confirm the deletion in the popup. This action is permanent — all messages in the session will be removed.

Session Limits

Up to 100 sessions are shown per chart. Sessions with no messages are automatically cleaned up after 60 seconds.

Note: Session management is available to all users. Free users are limited to 5 questions per day across all sessions.
